Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, technically known as eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure aimed at reshaping the upper and/or lower eyelids by removing or repositioning excess tissue (fat and/or skin), as well as strengthening the surrounding muscles and tendons. This procedure corrects drooping upper eyelids and under-eye bags, giving the face a more rested and youthful appearance.

Blepharoplasty results in a rejuvenated appearance of the eyes. However, it does not eliminate crow’s feet or other wrinkles, nor does it address eyebrow sagging.

It can be performed alone, but it is often combined with other procedures such as Botox or a cervico-facial facelift for enhanced results.

The upper eyelid can be done with local anesthesia alone. If both the upper and lower eyelids are being treated simultaneously, it is preferable to use local anesthesia with superficial sedation to ensure the patient’s comfort.

No. The scars are completely hidden, and the skin on the eyelids heals quickly and without complications.

The periocular area is highly vascularized, so post-surgical bruising is common. However, these bruises resolve quickly.
