Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at addressing aesthetic issues with the nose, such as asymmetry, deviations, and traumatic or congenital malformations. It also corrects respiratory problems caused by structural defects in the nose.

If bone manipulation is necessary, local anesthesia and outpatient sedation are sufficient. After surgery, nasal packing is applied, which is removed between 2 and 4 days. If the bone of the nasal dorsum is operated on, a splint is required for 7 days. Swelling and bruising may persist for a few days after the splint is removed.

It is advisable to wait until the facial anatomy is fully developed, so rhinoplasty is generally recommended after the age of 16-18 years.

It is recommended to avoid sun exposure and exercise for 2 months. Glasses should be avoided, or if necessary, worn for the least amount of time possible. Sleeping on your back with your head slightly elevated is also advised.
